The Sound Barrier iLX8D is a compact 2-way active full-range loudspeaker designed for mobile DJs, live performers, houses of worship, corporate presentations, and fixed installations. Powered by an efficient Class-D bi-amplified amplifier, the iLX8D pairs an 8″ low-frequency driver with a 1.5″ voice coil alongside a 1″ high-frequency compression driver, delivering clear vocal reproduction, detailed highs, and balanced low-frequency response across a 58Hz–20kHz frequency range. With 93 dB sensitivity and a maximum SPL of 120 dB, the iLX8D delivers professional-grade output in a portable enclosure suited for touring, live events, and permanent installations. Integrated DSP processing with four selectable presets allows the system to adapt quickly to different environments and applications.
The iLX8D features a locking PowerCON-type AC power input and output for secure, professional-grade power connection, combined with a universal 100V–240V power supply for reliable multi-region operation. A rugged MDF enclosure with textured paint finish, a 35mm pole socket, and M8 rigging points provide flexible deployment options for both portable and installed use.
