Cat6 delivers more stringent crosstalk and system noise specifications than Cat5 and Cat5e, with a rated performance of up to 250 MHz compared to 100 MHz for Cat5/5e. The cable supports 10GBASE-T applications and is backward compatible with Category 5, 5e, and Category 3 standards.
