SCX1 Overview
The Audix SCX1 is a professional cardioid condenser microphone built for recording, broadcast, and live sound environments where accuracy and consistency are critical. Its smooth, uniform frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz delivers reliable on- and off-axis performance with excellent phase coherence and minimal proximity effect. The 21mm gold vapor capsule and miniaturized electronics are housed in a precision machined brass body with an extremely small footprint, making placement in tight or complex miking setups straightforward. The SCX1 is well suited for audio engineers, studio recordists, orchestral sound designers, and live production professionals who require a consistent, high-output condenser across a broad range of sources.
The SCX1 is also available with interchangeable capsules, including the hypercardioid SCX1HC and omnidirectional SCX1O, allowing a single body to serve multiple polar pattern requirements across different applications. Designed, machined, assembled, and tested by Audix in the USA.
